Getting ready to re-assemble my frame, and I don't like the hieght of the rear. I already bought Eibach 1.5" lowering spring's, and I need another 1.5 or so. Can you cut rear springs, being that they are pigtail, I don't think so. Do's anybody know of a spring that wiil give about 3" of drop?

David,
Coil spring Specialties at 632 W. Bertrand in St, Mary's KS 66523, can make you just the heigth of spring that you need. They can also wind the spring with heaver wire if you know aprox. what % stiffer you might want the spring. If you can find out what you are running, they may be able to check that for you, and you can work from there. Cost about $70 per spring + shipping. The springs will be wound with the correct ends for your car.
Their phone is 785-437-2025

1. Yes you can cut them. If you cut the top, the 6" dia. coil will ride just fine in the frame perch.

2. You probably want to have the car together before you decide it's too high. If your spring rates are somewhere around 150#, about 300# more weight over the axle will drop it an inch. The interior and glass probably won't add up to 300# at the axle, but it will drop it some.

Add a full tank of gas, a spare tire, a jack, etc behind the axle, it might be enough.

I agree with the "wait till you're done with it" comment.

How's it coming along, Dave? I might just get mine done before you!! :D

Wanna Race........:D I'll have it all back together in about a month. When it's all back together and driveable, That'll be it for awhile. We're gonna go ahead, and move to the property, everything will go to storage till the shop get's built. The mobile get's in place, and the foundation for the house is done. Won't be able to think about painting till late this fall, that's why the big push to get driveable again. Got to get it all together, move the car, and all tools and car parts to storage, so we can sell the house. Told my wife I wouldn't move till the car was reliably a daily driver, I can put it on hold as long as I get to drive it over the summer. :D Take a look at my webpage, it's really been coming along the last few month's. Are you going to make it to the ACES NW show?

Hey, I didn't know you did a frame off. Cool!

I hope to make it to a few shows this year. For some reason I am upgrading stuff before it is even driveable, which isn't helping.

Sure, I think it'll be up for a lil' racin!!
