Buddy of mine bought a 454 with cracked pistons, needs an overbore, generally got completely sucked in. I'm hoping the nice semi-closed chamber heads are good. Instead of mucking around with Winnipeg machine shop shysters, I figure a good stateside vendor that does complete kits is the only way to go. I'm thinking Northern or Ohio Crank as the absolute rock bottom cheapest, but ya never know. What have you guys seen lately that I can steer his way?

Punch in "rotating assemblies" on search and you will find amazing amount of engine buildups-one certainly to your liking! Goodluck!

Please check out Ohio Crankshaft for an inexpensive 496 rotating assembly that should be a dandy in a street motor!!

And the old stand-by, S-O-M, they are almost older than dirt....

And don't forget PAW and their NYC telephone book sized $5 or $6 cat.!!!

Great reading to pass the time and some "gas" while on the "Throne" as Archie would say... He, He!!

Competition products website is near useless.

This statement may be even more accurate if you removed the 'near.'

Yeah the site does suck....the catalog as well has things so scattered about on different pages. I think it was something like 5 different pages of sm blk chevy hyd flt tapet cams. Why on 5 different pages. But the quality of their products vs their prices make them a value IMO

I suprised I am the first to say this. "sometimes ya get what ya pay for"
I know most of us are on a budget but sometimes it's worth it to pay a little more now than..............well you know the rest.
