Quick steer Why do you have to put the insides in the old steering box. Won't the 85-92 steering box bolt up to my 64 Mailbu frame. I don't have the old one out to compare but it sure look like it would.

It will bolt right up to the frame. The problems are retaining your correct stops and dealing with metric fittings. Also Before 1975 they had integral pressure port seats. After 1975, pressure port seat inserts were used. You will need a different steering coupler also. Using your original housing solves all these problems, except you still need the smaller steering coupler.
