Would the header tape/ wrap stuff work to cover a small hole and ding in the headers? I have ceramics and the driver side sits too low and scrapes on alot of stuff and currently blew a hole... sounds like hell... temporarily could I use that high temp header wrap? This is past the firewall bend, but before the collectors.

I don`t think the header wrap stops exhaust leaks to well. If it`s not real big and it`s accesable, take it to a welding shop or exhaust shop and have them weld it. If it`s underneath the car it won`t matter how it looks. You could always paint the repaired area with hi temp paint thats close in color to your coating. also, hear wraps destroy headers, don`t use it. The will make your headers rot very quickly.

Sounds like, fixing the hole isn't what you REALLY need to be concerned about. That's just the symptom of the REAL problem(s).

That's about like coming across somebody laying on the sidewalk bleeding to death, and they look pale, so you borrow some lady's makeup to put on them. Not alot of help in the long run.

I think the best thing to do, would be to do something about the scraping issue first; maybe some new front springs or something, if th ecar bottoms out alot. Then replace the headers with some that don't hang so low. That shouldn't be a problem with a big block, not near the problem that it is with a small block at least; with a BBC, unlike a SBC, most headers tuck up pretty tight. Most of the better ones anyway.
