What would I be better off doing on my 1970 Chevelle. It is not a numbers matching original car. I am restoring for a Sunday driver and hobby car. What is my best option for replacing the shocks/dampers/springs. Is one of the restoration places (ground up, OPG....etc? the best route, or is going to Advance Auto Parts, or a place like that best.

Thanks

I would say go Hotchkis if you want a better handling ride. If thats out of your price range, than go to Advance Auto for your parts.

If you want to improve the handling, I'd go with something like Eibach 2" drop springs, and shocks from either Billstein, Edelbrock, QA1, (who am I forgetting?)

Stay away from KYB shocks, they're no good.

Buy the best shocks you can afford. They really make a difference.
