Here it is. I dont know anything about it. I went over to my friends uncles house to help them work on a Honda Civic motor swap for one her cousin. I mention about wanting the old blown honda motor for a go-cart. Her one uncle says "oh, I have a good go-cart motor for you" and takes me outside to see this bike on a junk pile heading to the scrap yard. Turns out he bought it a few years ago for his friend, and his friend never picked it up. In the time since, he lost the title, and was just going to scrap it, even though it runs.

Picked it up today along with the motor. The dents/scratches you see are from him throwing it onto the pile of junk, last week it was in much better condition before being upside down inside a dumptruck bed. All I know is its a GS450, and it runs.

With a little work you can adapt the motorcycle brake assembly to a kart. I did it with an 86 Suzuki front disc brake. Used everything but the handlebars! I bought a 1" ID disc rotor from a kart shop, but I could have made one with using the bike rotor. It was too rusty though.

Good score.

by todays standards, those things are pigs, but in the day they were, fairly fast, as mentioned earlier, you have to keep them in the upper range to get them going. they had a whole program for a year or two, where these were used in a novice class. i think if your going to use it for a cart, you will be smoked by all the two strokes. cart tracks aren't usually big enough for this engine to hit it's power band. if the cart is just for fun, it will be fine, and you'll have a blast, but you'll outgrow this egine quickly. they were also weight sensitive, they didn't make a lot of torque, the ones i rode, were fine after you got them rolling, but in short curvey roads, with 200lbs. they were turds. i don't think it would be worth your time, and $ to restore the bike, but might make a decent cart engine....good luck, let's see pics of the cart when finished.....
