I just got a restamped rear deck filler, but does not include the lip to hold the trunk seal rubber in place. This is one of two reasons why I bought a restamp. None of them seem to have the lip. Mine is poking pin holes and I want to replace it, not epoxy it. Any ideas, sources? I'll have to mig something at the end the new deck filler? Any ready-made metal for this anywhere? Or will I have to ask my body guy to fabricate something?

What year Chevelle? I purchased one from one of the Chevelle parts suppliers for a 71 Chevelle I had about 7 years back. Let me take a look at it this week and see how it is constructed. I'll repost once I find out.

1971. Should be the same sheet metal from 68 to 72.
My order was for a 4-door. And not a special order. I have seen it in a couple of catalogs include it. I got mine from http://1964-77chevelleparts.com/
I am very satisfied "for a change" with my repro parts. Their service was good too.
If the 2-door part comes with the lip to hold the rubber seal in place, I would like to know that too. I would have to order another, cut and MIG me some metal  graemlins/angry.gif But it is the same metal Year One would send me too, so I won't blame Modern Chevrolet.

When I got my rear fill panel for my 70 GTO it definitely came with the trunk weather strip chanel in place. I wonder why yours did not have this?
You may want to check with another source. I got my panel from The Parts Place.
The Parts Place (http://www.thepartsplaceinc.com)
Maybe someone knows for sure regarding the Chevelle panels.

Both panels Ive bought have dome with the lip attached. One came from OPG the other goodmark, both fit great. I believe the OPG catalog showed panels for 4drs

It is a 4-door part. Stampers aren't so particular when making parts for 4-doors.
Mine comes ¾ the way across the channel. I checked with Modern Chevrolet. They are checking but say they are getting their stamp for the same sources. I'm figuring none have the lip, which means some very precise migging and frigging around? What do you think Sevt?

I doubt the part is wrong and you got a bad one, but Ive seen it before. Last week working on 01 chevy truck ext cab that got a 3dr, none of the holes for the door panel were drilled nor the holes for the door striker, didnt find this til after it was painted :( so it could happen.
Anyway can you cut the lip off the old panel and welded it on the new one? Or is that where its rusted? Or if you have any junk yards in your area with chevelles you might be able to pirate the lip off a 2dr car. The deck lids are the same as 2dr to 4dr so the hole will be the same. Also the side rails or the side lips on the quarters are the same from 2-4dr cars so I dont see why the front lip would be different. Simply cut off the lip from a good 2dr car and welded it to your new 4dr panel graemlins/thumbsup.gif
