Hi, I've got a 350 with a Rochester Quadrajet on it. It's hard to start these cold mornings because I can't use the choke; it just kills it.

I went out to look for some sort of fast idle adjuster but it doesn't appear to have one. Does that suond right?

Numbers on the side:

Thanks

Did you look on the passenger's side by the little weight that falls down?

Thanks. The choke cable comes in on the passenger side and I can't see any weight or anything move with the choke lever. What exactly am I looking for?

Thanks in advance

A choke cable on a Q-jet? I wasn't aware that any Q-jets had a manual choke.

Been converted to manual choke?

You have to hold the gas pedal down a little while you pull out on the choke then take your foot off the gas with the cable still pulled out.

Go back under the hood and watch the passenger's side for movement while you move the throttle lever.

Let me see if I can find a picture.
I'll be back.

Well I can't see it in the picture but there should be a fast idle adjusting screw somewhere near the weight on the oposite side of the carburetor from the regular idle adjustment screw.

I think that's the weight (red arrow)

I don't think so. Looks pretty original to me.

Thanks for the picture. I'll have a look again.

Ok, choke doesn't look like anything in that picture. I can see the part that would give the fast idle but nothing on the choke part that would push it down.

Doesn't matter. The previous owner gave me a Holley with the car so I just need the time to install it when the weather gets better.

Thanks
