does anybody know why there are a ton of divots on the firewall of chevelles ranging from 64-66 (tack welds????) I ended up filling mine they look so tacky!

Actually its all years and all Chevys. If you have an assembly manual, look in the front section. It shows a picture of a firewall with all these "divots". Those are placed there for the line man to cut acces holes for tach wires, cables, air conditioning harness, holes for ground straps, harness gutters, relays, etc etc. They do look very unsightly for a show car and a lot of people smooth and finish them. K
