Hi guys,
while attempting to install roof rail weatherstriping on my 67 chevelle.
It did'nt look right as far as attachment points, the shape and size looked correct, but, it looked like something was missing on the car.
The car is a frame off that just returned from paint.
is there a trim piece that goes on the roof rail that connects the weatherstriping or does the weatherstriping just connect to the rail ?

There is no molding other than the chrome trim piece the weatehrstrip goes into dont forget there is a bead of sealer that goes between the chrome roof rail molding and the body,,, other than that theres nothing else :)

You are missing the weather strip retainers. Two pieces per side, one short one and one long curved one. They screw on and then your weatherstrips fit into those. I don't believe they reproduce those yet. Yours have to be around somewhere.

Hello,I know exactly what you are talking about because I am in the same process right now.The weatherstrip retainers are screwed directly to the roof rail with short button headed screws. Then the weatherstrip is fitted into these retainers.I almost messed mine up by sandblasting but was able to polish them out again fairly well with the buffer. Two pieces per side probably 12 screws each side.I couldn't find a decent set anywhere so I stayed with what I had.hope this helps you out.
