Is the BE code on the master cylinder number 5470409 the correct one for a 70 SS 454?

I have same casting 5470409 with BE code can anyone tell me what its out of. Thanks

Are there any exterior differences from BB to BE, other than this code of course.

BE is for a 70 Camaro Power Disc brake application. The internal valving is different it can be used with a Correct Chevelle master cylinder rebuild kit with the piston assembly. Just take a closer look to make shure that E isn't a faint B stamping.

I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that 70 Camaro with disc brakes uses an EB coded master cylinder and BE was 71-2 Chevelle with disc brakes. Jim could be right but I don't think so. The difference in these masters is all in the internal piston assembly as noted and any of them with the correct kit installed would work on any of these applications.

BB is 70 chevrolet a-body with disc brakes regardless of engine displacement. BE is 71-72 chevrolet a-body with disc brakes again regardless of engine size. All Chevelle body styles with discs utilize the same masters, this includes Monte Carlos. It's not an engine specific thing.
