69 Ratt Vette

I have a buddy of mine that is going to take his 572 hemi over to a chassis dyno for some flogging. The motor was built and dyno'd back east. Now that the motor is in the car and going fast (although slower than my corvette :-) what do you guys think ? Will there be much tuning to do on this thing? Obviously it will probably want some jets, but what about timing, anything else you guys would look for?
We gotta help my friend out, he is going nuts trying to figure out how to keep up with a certain red 63 vette. I told him the easiest thing to do would be to put a big Ratt in there, but he was not persuaded.
Thanks
John

The couple of times I have done this ....... engine dyno ..... chassis dyno , then track on same engine / car ...... in both instances had to back down timing , especially from engine dyno setting FWIW

And from what I have seen, and obviously there are a lot of variables, you will lean it out for best power on the chassis dyno then have to fatten it back up a little for the track (again, the air conditions really drive that).
The best tuning tool (on a car that is pretty well dialed in already) is the track imo.
If you are using an engine or chassis dyno, make sure that you can take the most amount of data possible as that is the large advantage of an engine dyno and also for a chassis dyno.

John Having to give up over a thousand pounds that Hemi definately doesn't have enough beans to outrun your race 'Vette. Unless he puts a big nitrous system on his Mopar it won't even be close. Weight makes a lot of difference.

Hmm weight matters ?? I thought it was because his spark plugs and distributor are in the wrong place.
