I've just recently found myself in a 1967 Chevelle SS 396 (Clone - but done quite well, some day when I have the dough perhaps a true #138 will grace my garage) and I am looking for a factory original radio. Any thoughts, advice or suggestions would be most appreciated.

Ebay might be a good place to search, or the classifieds on this site...

I recall just yesterday seeing an ad for a bunch of miscellaneous 67 parts. Not sure if they have a radio, or what they would want...

The SS could come with any of the factory available radios. Are you looking for just ANY correct 67 Chevelle radio? Or do you want something more specific, like the AM/FM... Not completely sure, but there might have been only two options, AM Pushbutton and AM/FM (I don't think they had the AM, non-pushbutton any longer, but not really sure)...

Do you care if it works, or are you looking to fill an empty space on the dash (and perhaps have a nicer, modern radio hidden)?

Do you desire completely "original" (Chevrolet) radio in the dash? Or just something that looks "correct" for the era?

You should be able to find a nice looking AM radio for $30-$50, maybe not working though... factory AM/FM, probably $500-$1000 depending on condition (pretty rare and desirable option).

There are some aftermarket units (Custom Auto Sound) that have a "classic" look, with the correct shaft spacing (otherwise NOT available on newer radios) that will bolt right in your dash.

I just sold an AM. I bought a AM-FM off Ebay a couple of years ago. They are pricey and hard to find. There is a slight difference in the sliders on the 66-67 AM-FM radios. The 66 is more pointed than the 67. If you end up paying big bucks for one you might as well get the right one.
