bought another 70 SS and want to run a different carb, was wondering if and what carbs will allow you to run the factory aircleaner and seal for the cowl hood??? posted this in engine forum but no response, thanks mike

should of been clearer, i want to get away from the rochester and go to a demon/holley etc. want to know if the factory air cleaner will work on these carbs so I can still have a functional cowl induction hood, thanks mike

Get the Q-jet fixed or what ever it needs. There is no better street carb made.

Holleys and Road Demons both work fine - the limiting factor is the intake.

Performer RPM works (I have a Wieand for mine with a 3310 Holley) but you will need to run the cowl seal on the air cleaner upside down.

Some versions (LS6 for example) came with a Holley but used a low-rise intake.
