There's a 1/4 X 1/2 inch dent on the passenger side of my header panel....Can this dent be pounded out our would someone have to drill it out then put filler in it or what? Thanks...

The dent sounds like a simple one to fix. The proper way would be to straighten the metal as best as possible. This requires an experienced body man, or you could try it yourself if you feel like you're up to the task. The more you 'pound' on the metal, the more it will stretch. Get it close and use a skim coat (<1/4") of plastic filler on a freshly ground steel surface. Use a flat board with 80 grit to smooth the filler even with the surrounding surface. Then sand the entire area with 320 and follow up with a good 2 coats of urethane (2 part) primer. Block sand with 220 and repeat the process until you're satisfied it's perfect. Final sand with 400 and paint.
