I am trying to plan a turbo 400 swap in a 68 chevelle with a 383. Can someone please educate me on what a turbo 400 kickdown switch is, it's function, where it is located. and any other important information that may be neccessary? Thanks BRian.

The turbo 400 has a kickdown switch it is located on the top of the gas pedal. It an electric solenoid on the trans. That kicks it down a gear when the throttle is depressed fully. If you want it to look factory you will need a new gas pedal assembly. I`m sure there are a bunch of other posts on this. Good luck, paul
