I have seen all the post on painting a trunk.. I have bought 3 cans of Black Aqua and 3 Clear. What steps to do I take to make sure it come out correct. I mean like scraping off the old paint etc... and what is the ideal temp outside to paint the trunk. Should I do it inside my garage or outside in the driveway? I just had the car painted and I am afraid of overspray.. Please advise...By the way, I have a 67SS.....

if your worried about overspray do it inside. ya might want to run a fan on low just to circulate what mist/vapors do collect while painting. be sure to mask off anything you think you might get overspray on. heck i'd just cover the rest of the auto with old sheets to be safe. i used varsol (sorta like turpentine) to remove the old paint. i did have to sand and scrape some. i took my time and painted over a five day period. then after a week or letting the spatter paint dry i then clear coated it. the weather got cold and wet so i waited a few extra days to ensure it all dried. i amazed myself. it turned out great.
