Darn! I really enjoyed this man's work through the years, he will be missed.
bubba68ss Feb 25th, 06, 6:03 PM Thats sad. We'll miss him
BillsCamino Feb 25th, 06, 6:24 PM
shannon Feb 25th, 06, 6:33 PM I hate that.
It's a shame that news story didn't mention any of his work with the equally hilarious Tim Conway. I can remember as a little boy seeing "Private Eyes" and "They Went That Away, and That Away" in the theaters and laughing so hard it hurt.

bisjoe Feb 25th, 06, 6:59 PM I'll still catch "The Incredible Mr. Limpet" when I see it on. Really sorry to see him gone. So long, Barney!
Sid Coleman Feb 25th, 06, 7:04 PM
AZ_Ron Feb 25th, 06, 7:52 PM He and Tim Conway were absolutely Fantastic together. My favorites with them were 'The Private Eyes' and 'The Apple Dumpling Gang'... Back in the day!
Ron
Robert Henderson Feb 25th, 06, 9:20 PM "Attaboy, Luther!"
Dave Feb 25th, 06, 9:44 PM The Apple Dumpling Gang........Now that take's me back a long way.
sudolg Feb 25th, 06, 9:52 PM I loved that guy. He just cracked me up. Sorry to hear this.
Randy Mosier Feb 25th, 06, 10:09 PM Man, the icons of my childhood days are leaving us one by one. It's always sad when another one is gone. Barney, Godspeed.
Cam Feb 25th, 06, 10:49 PM "Mr. Peacock, Mr. Peacock. No one else could be so groovy..."
I always enjoyed his 'nervous' antics. I guess that why they chose him to be in 'The Ghost & Mr. Chicken.'
They say it is important to be remembered for something that lasts. Well you won't be forgotten, Mr. Knotts. Thanks for all the laughs.
BULKSS Feb 25th, 06, 11:33 PM What was the one he played in as kinda of a ghost watcher ????
Mr Chicken?
RIP Barney
Mike
malibu400 Feb 26th, 06, 4:56 AM Barney Fife made the Andy Griffith show one of the funniest shows of the sixties.I can watch that old show and still laugh(I told my brother I wanted to live in Mayberry except for the fact that everyone drove fords :) )
mr 4 speed Feb 26th, 06, 6:14 AM there will never be another one like him..
RIP
cjlandry Feb 26th, 06, 7:57 AM The Andy Griffith Show wouldn't have gone very far without Barney Fife.
The duo of Don Knotts and Andy Griffith was one of my all time favorites.
I miss the skinny little guy already.
69malibu3speed Feb 26th, 06, 9:32 AM He'll really be missed.
I heard Andy Griffith say that he was originally suppose to be the funny one on the Andy Griffith show. Before the first day on the set with Don Knotts was over, Andy said, "No, I'm the straight man for Don, he's the funny one."
Great show, as was anything with either Don or Andy.
SteveSK Feb 26th, 06, 10:56 AM He was from Morgantown, WV, about an hour from my hometown in PA. My grandfather went to school with his grandfather. I wish I could have met him.
great comedian his work will last forever
R.I.P.
chevelledude71 Feb 26th, 06, 2:02 PM I love the Andy Griffith Show and Barney will be missed. I have a T-shirt one of my buddies brought me from a t-shirt shop in S.C. It has a face shot of Barney and on the Shirt it says..."Hey Lieutenant"...I get strange looks with that shirt on, especially on base. :)
Chris/75 Feb 26th, 06, 5:27 PM Man, he was a great guy! Very nice and cool man for sure! Enjoyed watching him as Barney on Any Griffith. God Bless him!
Andy69 Feb 26th, 06, 7:52 PM Dang he and Tim Conway had some kind of chemistry together. Here's to Don :beers:
Phil Keller Feb 26th, 06, 8:13 PM He'll be the only guy in Heaven with a bullet.
kc5rick Feb 27th, 06, 12:42 PM He Will Be Miss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
zombie1974 Feb 27th, 06, 8:38 PM My wife is so bummed. She's always loved Don Knotts. She has even wanted a Dodge "Dude" pickup truck ever since she saw the episode of Trucks in which Stacey talked about the truck and mentioned that Don Knotts was the spokesman.
We just watched Mr. Limpet a week or two ago.
