It's a shame that news story didn't mention any of his work with the equally hilarious Tim Conway. I can remember as a little boy seeing "Private Eyes" and "They Went That Away, and That Away" in the theaters and laughing so hard it hurt.

He and Tim Conway were absolutely Fantastic together. My favorites with them were 'The Private Eyes' and 'The Apple Dumpling Gang'... Back in the day!

I always enjoyed his 'nervous' antics. I guess that why they chose him to be in 'The Ghost & Mr. Chicken.'

They say it is important to be remembered for something that lasts. Well you won't be forgotten, Mr. Knotts. Thanks for all the laughs.

Barney Fife made the Andy Griffith show one of the funniest shows of the sixties.I can watch that old show and still laugh(I told my brother I wanted to live in Mayberry except for the fact that everyone drove fords :) )

The Andy Griffith Show wouldn't have gone very far without Barney Fife.

The duo of Don Knotts and Andy Griffith was one of my all time favorites.

I miss the skinny little guy already.

I heard Andy Griffith say that he was originally suppose to be the funny one on the Andy Griffith show. Before the first day on the set with Don Knotts was over, Andy said, "No, I'm the straight man for Don, he's the funny one."

Great show, as was anything with either Don or Andy.

He was from Morgantown, WV, about an hour from my hometown in PA. My grandfather went to school with his grandfather. I wish I could have met him.

I love the Andy Griffith Show and Barney will be missed. I have a T-shirt one of my buddies brought me from a t-shirt shop in S.C. It has a face shot of Barney and on the Shirt it says..."Hey Lieutenant"...I get strange looks with that shirt on, especially on base. :)

Man, he was a great guy! Very nice and cool man for sure! Enjoyed watching him as Barney on Any Griffith. God Bless him!

My wife is so bummed. She's always loved Don Knotts. She has even wanted a Dodge "Dude" pickup truck ever since she saw the episode of Trucks in which Stacey talked about the truck and mentioned that Don Knotts was the spokesman.
We just watched Mr. Limpet a week or two ago.
