The ones on my 72 SS go to bolts located on the core support just behind the inside edge of the head light bezels/frames.

A friend has a 72 SS and his go to the outer most bolts of the radiator top plate. (But I think he has holes in the same place as mine too)

It could easily be different on different years, and cars from different plants too.

Check your email, I sent you two pix of them. There are lots of variations and I think the the assemblers did it by hand. I think the assembly manual also has a diagram.

I have the hood pins installed but can't nail down the location for the clips that attach the cable to the radiator support. It this post there is mention of attching them to existing bolts. The assembly manual shows using the clips and they come in the kit. Unfortuantley the manual dosen't do a very good job indicating loaction. There are 4 numbered reference lines with dimensions coming from them but it does not give you a location for the numbered lines.
Anyone have a picture or some additional information that will get me through this?

This seems to be the most common location in all the photos I have:

Excellent! Seems that these type of photos should go into some type of archive to suplement the assembly manual. This forum provided me with a similar picture when I went to install my deck lid emblem.
Thanks again!

Looks like there could be more than one mounting location which really wouldn't be too surprising.

I think different assembly plants had their own way of doing it. Try to find some cars that were built at the same plant as yours.

I took the information that you guys gave me and spent some more time with the assembly diagram. The numbered lines I saw earlier are inches from some baseline on the car. Using the hood pins as a starting point I did the math and it put the clips in the same place as the picture that Xtreme70SS396 posted. This location also brings the cable out between the grille and the fender extension which make a lot of sense.
Since I am not sure where the manuals base line is... If you are starting from scratch, put the hood pins in using the holes in the hood which should also be in the center of the U shaped pockets on the radiator support.

The clip holes should be 2-5/8" forward of the hood pins and 7-7/8" in towards the center of the car.

Check your AIM for UPC 11-13 Bxxx. In my 66 and 67 AIMS, thats where SHEET METAL CHECKING is located with '0' reference points.
