Just got a new hood and am wondering if I should strip to bare metal or just DA and prime. The hood came from Goodmark in black primer/paint. Any suggestions? TIA

I would DA it and then prime it.No need to remove the E coat.

We sell and install those hoods all the time, I would just scuff ad prime as normal.

Red scotch pad on the underside and edges and scuff the top.

Da with 400 or 320 grit no need to remove the ecoat. Blow off the dust and wipe down the hood with wax and grease remover til clean. Prime with your 2k primer...Eric
