The rear valance on my restoration project is shot. I have been unable to locate one in good shap or find a reprodution for this part. Does anyone have and ideas on where to find them or has anyone fabricated one of these.
Thanks Gary

Are you talking about the sheet metal that is mostly hidden by the bumper and extends into the tail lights?
No repro on this section. I've been looking for a while myself. As Gary wrote, either patch or you need to find a parts car.
I've had no luck finding a replacement section and will probably just patch it. Missed a nice piece on Ebay a few months ago.

Yes that is exactly what I am talking about. But apartently they are almost all bad. I will keep asking the question and hopefully find a donor car.

Thanks Gary

BTDT... there are no repo tail pans.. and GM stapled the dang rubber bumper seal.. to make sure they ALL rusted OUT....

It a roll you own deal... a PITA but a can do job.. the pinch weld is a three piece deal... Tail pan, trunk floor and bottom brace.
Re pop trunk floor do not extend all the way and fall short, but you have a straight edge if you doing a full trunk replacement.he important thing is the trunk rubber and the top edge,, if thats intact and not eaten away.. rolling the pieces that extend the 90 deg. to the flat ,is no that hard. time consuming yes.. but some 20 GA steel and a length of tubing to act as a forming mandrill it can be done...

Yea that's the way I was leaning, the top edge that holds the seal is still in good shap but that is about it.

BTCWO,
The link attached shows my rust in this area. It was a one owner Georgia car. Still looking.

Chris, i haven't had my bumper off yet, but from what i can tell, i would swear that you have pictures of my car! must be a common rust area for these cars.

Add a little body plastic from a previous repair and you would have a picture of mine. The more I see make's me realize that any donor car would probably not be in that good of shape either. So it is fab time.

It will be a couple months before I start since I want the body back on the fram for this. But when I do I will take a lot of pics to help others with this process.

Thanks Gary
