Can anybody give me any info for locating the tailgate mouldings and SS emblems for a 72 elky? I know the mouldings have to line up with the tail lights but I'm not sure about the SS emblems as far as spacing and the bottom to top location. Seems like they should be slightly above the center of the 2 mouldings along the centerline of the backup lights. Can anyone confirm this? My assembly manual does not have this detail.

In the spirit of Steve Courter, I will make a pattern that you can use out of an original tailgate that I happen to have and send it to you at no charge. Email me your address.

Ha Steve, out-gunned for once! I have an old tailgate off of a 71 El Camino that was an SS so we gave Big James the dimensions for the SS emblems. Maybe you know someone else around Team Chevelle that does that? http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

You guys are right on top of things! I've been busy today preping and primining a few stray parts to paint along with the tail gate. The dimensions you gave look to be correct to my eye, I'm going to drill them tomorrow and then shoot some paint.
Thanks again!
