Is there a number on the distrubuter that you can cross to tell you what your gap should be on your plugs? I have a sbc (327) and I use r45ts plugs. Should they be gapped a 35 or 60 thousandths

If it's stock distributor with points, it's @ 35 gap
If it's a electronic distributor (point less) it's at 45 - 50 gap
Hope this helps you.

LOOK IN THE PLUG MAKER'S CATALOG.

You should NOT just gap plugs at "whatever" seems good to you. The side electrode needs to be parallel to the end of the center electrode. So, larger gaps need a longer side electrode, and smaller gaps need a shorter side electrode. There is some range of adjustablility--I've heard that NGK specifies a gap, and recommends no more than .008 smaller or larger.

Oh, yeah. Plugs are gapped in "thousandths" not "degres". :)
