The "00196" is the fisher body sequence number, and it never has any relation to the VIN. elcamino Feb 22nd, 06, 9:24 AM The body number was assigned by the central office as dealer orders were sent to the plant. The VIN is assigned as the order is broadcast to the final asssembly plant. Meaning the body number came before the VIN, the computer assigned a VIN when it was scheduled for build.
