Does anyone know where to purchase a fiberglass kit to fabricate a body part. My idea is to make a A-pillar gauge housing for my 70 chevelle. There is pre-molded A-pillar gauge housings but they have to be riveted to the stock A-pillar. This looks ugly and non-stock. So my idea was to mold the gauge-pod out of fiberglass. I have seen fiberglass kits on TV but have not been able to find any. Can anyone help? Thanks

Where are you, Tap plastics has just about anything you could need.
You would do it one of two ways:
1. Make a foam example of what you want. Cover it with fiberglass resin and mat or cloth. Then dig out the foam.
2. Make a "plug" out of foam, fiberglass and mat or cloth. Sand it smooth and then make a mold from the plug so you can then use the mold to make as many as you want.

Or you could buy one from autometer pre made for a 70-72 chevelle.... I got a mini catalog from summit that has the A-pillar gauge pod (three pods) already made http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

One of the easiest supply sources for fiberglass would be a boat repair shop!
