When the key on my '70 is turned to the ACC position the usual things you would expect to work don't. I am wondering if this is an ignition switch problem or could be something else. I did a search and didn't find a related topic. Any ideas would be appreciated.

The ignition switch above the steering column might need to be adjusted closer or farther from the key lock, or replaced. The shaft from the ignition key lock moves inside the ignition switch and might not move the contacts far enough to engage in ACC position.

I would think too possibly an adjustment or worn out switch. Below is a link to a thread with the locations of the switch and what one looks like apart. The switch and position should be about the same as on the Chevelle with the key tumbler in the column.
