Hello,I have a 1969 Chevelle SS L-78 4 speed ,that is rallye green with black interior/buckets. It has the original drive train .I was wondering if anyone would know how many 69 's were made rallye green?L-78?And if you were to guess what is the current value if it is restored? I am wondering because I am not sure what I want to do with it.
Thanks Doug

What is the paint code on your cowl tag ?
59 is Frost Lime, which would be a very light green.
57 is Fathom Green, which is what I suspect you have.
No such thing as Rallye green for a 69 Chevelle.
Maybe they used that name on the 69 Camaro ?
As for the value of your car, you'd be better off to have somebody look at it in person and get a professional appraisal.

The paint code on my car is a - or -- I checked all the edges of the door trunck and under the hood it it all appears to be rallye green. I know the dashs are for special order and rallye green was a Camaro color. So I am guessing it was ordered that way. I have heard of two other 1969 Chevelle that are rallye green but both are 325 hp cars. One of them was from the Fremont CA.plant like my car and was produced about 500 cars before my car.

the dashes on your trim tag mean special order paint. here is a link to a 69 chevelle rallye green car. there really is no way of telling how many were painted this color.

There are no known records of numbers of cars/paint colors in '69 but it certainly appears from other '69's that it could've been special ordered with a different color. And since Ralley Green was a Camaro color that makes it all the more plausible. The -- on the trim tag for a paint code was the normal MOP with a special order paint color in '69. Probably a pretty rare color on a '69 Chevelle but it sounds like a few exist. Any chance of finding a build sheet or other documentation? That would make it worth more if still original or restored as original..

The rallye green car on the yenko site is the same car.
I am still tracking down the paperwork. I believe I do know who the original owner is. The other rally green 69 SS 396 325 hp car that I know about is also from the Fremont plant in Califonia. He does have docs for his car and the special order paint code etc.on his window sticker it has the 1001HA code and a $33.75 special paint cost. His car has a black top my car is all green.

All the typical places:
In the seat spings
under the carpet
above the glovebox
in the door panels
In the backs of the seats
above the headliner
above the gas tank
under the sound deadener which is under the carpet

I found one in the headliner of of a 69 Baltimore car. The mice had pretty much trashed it and the sound deadener. Luckily I also found one in the seat springs of the same car and it was in good shape.
