Hello Everybody,mt 1st time here ! I have a 1970 chevell ss # matching car that i am in the process of restoring. I need some help on what wires go where on the coil. I know the one that goes to the dist. goes to the neg side and the 1 that comes from the harness light yellow and white go to the pos side but the one coming out of the firewall ??? where does that go pos or neg. Will appreciate any help that u offer

The cloth covered wire goes to the positive (+) side of the coil. This looks white and comes from the firewall. It originally was clipped together with a yellow wire. Yellow also goes to the positive (+) side and runs down to solenoid/starter (R) terminal.

What color is it, brown maybe? Is it coming from the firewall bulkhead or from a single grommet on the firewall? If it is brown and coming from a single grommet on the firewall it is for the tach and goes to the negative terminal on coil.

Ty very much Graig-it is a single brown wire coming from a single grommet. That makes sense. happy motoring Greasemonkey
