Do any of you guys have experience w/ this starter...http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-2-HP-CHEVY-MINI-STARTER-CAMARO-CHEVELLE-IMPALA_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33576QQitemZ8038 669832QQrdZ1 I see these sell on Ebay all the time and it looks like they would work great for my application. My stock 'hi torque' style starter technically works, but on hot days the solenoid soaks up alot of heat and it barely turns over. It's got a heat shield on it also.

19nova72,
from experience, spend the extra $$, buy a powermaster/mini.
We have one of these exact starters<new> on the shelf,<ebay starter> from same sellar.
tried on 377/stroker, wasn't impressed. installed powermaster.
using these on our bbc's.way to go.
my 2cents worth.good luck.

I bought a GM mini starter from www.dbelectrical.com its been on the car for a year now and so far its started the car everytime, and at the track most of the time, that is quite a few starts  I figured worse case scenario if it didnt last I would have a core to take to my local parts store.

I have great work out my CSI mini starter and it's going on 3 yrs now and been behind 2 motors.
What I like about it the most is you can buy the parts direct from them and rebuild only what's necessary.
I've also used the GM mini and it worked flawlessly.

Myself and several local guys are using a GM style mini starter on our BBCs, no problems. I do suggest a heat shield/blanket in any case.
