This may sound stupid but is the cowl induction hood door the A frame shaped piece on the top of the cowl hood. 70 chevelle

cowl induction (induction) there is a small flapper door at the rear center of a cowl hood that opens to allow cool fresh air to be pulled in by the carb. the door is about 12 inches wide and 2 inches long. not all cowl hoods have this only the cowl induction ones. hope this answers your question. good luck michael
