I am 2nd owner of an all original blue with black stripes 1971 heavy chevy chevelle.Im trying to find out how many 71 heavy chevy chevelles were produced with the 402.Thanks ,mike

They tracked options but not by model so that info would not be known.

How many of any one model with 1 particular engine had no meaning to the bean counters. Total options and models was the only thing of interest as that was used to justify the model or option. I read somewhere that if a option,color, model etc fell below 3% of total production in that series, it was unprofitable and would likely be cancelled.

Figures for Heavy Chevy production are reported to be 6,727 but, as Mike said, there's no known accurate source for what option combinations were installed.
