I noticed on the two 1969 Oshawa-built Chevelle trim tags I have that the paint designation code is different from U.S. Chevelles and even from 1970 Oshawa Chevelles. Instead of two 2-digit codes for lower/upper colors or (and in my examples both actually) a 2-digit code for the lower color and a letter for the upper color (convertible or vinyl top) both of my examples have a 3-digit number followed by a letter.
Example one is a convertible with 711A and one has a vinyl top with 692C. I know the 71 is Lemans Blue on the convertible and it has a white (A) top but why the extra "1"? The other is Cortez Silver (69) with a dark blue vinyl top (C), but why the extra "2"? Would the "1" indicate a convertible top and the "2" indicate a vinyl top? Unfortunately these are the only two examples I have so there's no other convertible/vinyl top/solid color plate to compare them to.
