2 questions for you guys. 1-how much of the trunk area was covered with spatter paint from the factory on a 1970 chevelle.(pics would be great) 2-what is the correct paint code for the white stripes on the 70 SS.
Thanks,Gerry

Gerry,
Regarding the stripe question, I had mine painted with code #10 white. The trunk spatter is a difficult question. I spray as close to the top of the quarters as possible, cover the rear panel, get as far up on the outer wheel houses as I can, coat the floor and inner wheelhouses, and just get a bit of overspray on the hinge bracket and trunk striker.

All of the aftermarket rattle-can splatter paint is water based. It should be top coated with a clear coat to protect it from water. Otherwise, it will get messy in there if it gets wet. I would spray ALL of the trunk areas to protect all of the metal. The factory didn't build these cars to last a long time. They sprayed whatever was visible while standing at the trunk.
