: History Channel TV show Chevelle restoration/modifictaion
Hurst - Jeff Feb 16th, 06, 3:50 PM For those who are interetsed there will be a new TV show premiering on the History Channel this Sunday at 11:00 p.m. (PT/ET) called "Rides Reunited". This pilot episode features the build up and modernization of a 70 Chevelle for an unsuspecting owner. The show is along the lines of Overhaulin but a bit more of something you would find on the History Channel ( if that makes any sense).
We were asked to get involved by contributing one of our Elite TKO transmission kits for the 68-72 Chevelles.
The show covers some hisitory of the Chevelle, interviews with GM designers, and also the modification of the Chevelle (disc brakes, new motor, 5 speed transmission, suspension, paint and body, etc.).
Check the History Channel website for additional information and show times:

1badss396 Feb 18th, 06, 10:15 AM Dean, We live by the tivo. Just recore the show then play it later on and you can skip all the commercials:thumbsup: And you will be suprised how fast a 1 hour show is without commercials.:D
67Chevelleman Feb 19th, 06, 8:28 PM That Tivo is great,it will even record the shows for you, once you record them a few times. It remembers what kind of shows you like and records them automatically.Love it
Dean Feb 19th, 06, 8:54 PM No kidding that thing is smart enough to record what you want without you telling it, that's amazing.
hmm, looks pretty good, only $12.95 per month plus the box.

AlsChevelle Feb 20th, 06, 1:21 AM I watched i tonight I did not like the fact that when they made the trans tunnel patch they just pop riveted it on.
Hurst - Jeff Feb 20th, 06, 3:09 AM I agree, I think they could have just as easily welded it on.
JodysTransmissions Feb 20th, 06, 10:44 AM Nice show and coverage for you Jeff.
I am very partial to saving a Chevelle, especially converting one to a '70. I don't know why but, a '70 is my favorite year! Hmmmmmm!
chevelleguy2005 Feb 20th, 06, 11:04 AM i watched it last night, wish that chevelle was sittin' in my garage. it was also pretty neat seeing the look on his face when that chevelle he hadn't seen in 20 years pull up in the driveway. i have a 70' chevelle, but isn't nearly as nice as the 70' on that show.
tweet 55 Feb 20th, 06, 3:33 PM I wonder two things.
How and when did they break in the TKO?
How do you guys feel about the small block in a Chevelle?
Hurst - Jeff Feb 20th, 06, 3:53 PM I warned them about the 500 mile break-in of the TKO as well as the clutch. Whether or not they actaully broke it in I do not know. You can lead a horse to water but.....
tweet 55 Feb 20th, 06, 4:03 PM Jeff,
I hope that you don't think that I was questioning the install from you, I have been following your posts here on TC long enough to know better:) I agree about the "horse to water"
LateNight72 Feb 20th, 06, 4:20 PM Definetly not a Show Car like Overhaulin'.. You can actually drive it..
The show focused more on the car rather the prank..
Pretty cool show, not a fan of the "Pop Rivets", all six of them..
Glad to see you get some air time Jeff!

Hurst - Jeff Feb 20th, 06, 4:47 PM tweet55-
It is interesting to see how those shows actaully take place from the build up perspective. They are really just a bunch of guys like you and I making some good decisions and some not-so-good decisions.
The guys were all really nice, when I was there I was expecting to simply drop stuff off but when I saw what was happening I stuck around and got involved so they turned the Camera on me and I actually made the cut - I was surprised.

Jeff,
What a great idea for a new show. "5th with Over Drive", every week some lucky person would get a 5 speed installed in their vehicle?! : )
