'69 Chevelle. I've searched posts and most deal with rechroming. My issue is my front bumper's chrome is ok for what I'm using it for, but it appears to be "twisted" from about 1/3 off right back toward driver's side. While it is on car, etc., it appears to have about 3/4-1" of twist in it, making it impossible to get even, horizontal line on it, or have bumper end line up correctly on driver side fender bottom.
QUESTION: Can a bumper be "bent" (twisted back) without having to have it rechromed?

There are companies out there that specialize in straightening and repairing bumpers. I would find one near you and take it to them and let them make that call. The consensus answer is yes, it can be straightened, but I would leave it to someone who does it as their specialty.

Bumper boyz can streighten bumpers. They are a recroming company. they streighten the bumpers before they recrome them. You could contact them and ask them if they will just streighten it. You could also get a different bumper from them. They cost more than recroming and you might have to supply a core. Im not shure of the core part. Im not shure of there number or web site but if i find it i will post it.

When the "twist" that you describe is "on the car", the problem isn't just the bumper itself. Most likely, the bumper brackets and possibly, the frame horn is also bent. First, you have to determine why the bumper "appears to be bent",then go from there.

Word of caution...before using "the boyz", do a search on this site of them. I and many, many people out there have used them and, well, do the search.
