I did a 67 conversion from shiftworks and I can't get the gas gauge to work right. When I turn the key on the needle goes all the way past full and stays there ,I did all the tests to the wiring and sender and everything checks fine .New gas tank , new GM sender, new wiring harnesses.I finally put the old original back in and it works fine .REads 1/4 full with about 5 to 6 gallons of fuel in tank.Could I have gotton a bad gauge? Would they give me a replacement?

I wonder if you got a gas guage that isnt rated for the proper ohms of gas guages sender. It has to be the proper ohms at high and low fuel ranges to work properly.
