Is it true the 66 vette arm rest base and pad is the same as the 66 chevelle? And the 66 vette arm rest assembly is a better and more correct than what is offered by many chevelle venders?

64-67 chevelles front rests are the same. heard the vette were the same. so maybe the 63-64 vette rests are the same. maybe one of the guys that has a 63-64 vette will jump in and comment.

Haven't see an NOS for sale one ebay. Are there some venders that have NOS bases? Have repo on the car now, the chrome plating is lifting off, the pads are not even close to the originals in tickness. It seems that if a repo is made for a corvette application it is much better then others. So I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the corvette repos and if indeed they were the same.

Jim,
I recall that the arm rests for my 62 Corvette are the same as for my 66 El Camino. 62 to 64 Corvette are listed the same in Y1 catalog. I will check my Corvette and Chevelle GMparts books to verify, but a quick check of Year One shows two different part numbers for the two applications and different prices with the Corvette bases being more expensive. Maybe there are two different suppliers and levels of quality? I'll have to confirm the original GM part numbers and look at my originals and NOS replacements.
