Someone has a set of aluminum heads & the following number is cast into the rocker arm area - 3919824. I have had no luck finding out if these are factory aluminum heads. There is also a date inside of 11-17-69. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I don't know if this help but in my chevy big block book they are calling out casting # of 3919842 This casting # is a 1968-69 Aluminum, Largeport 375HP 396 or 435HP 427. I'm hoping maybe in your post you got the last two numbers switch around. That would be awsome to have those heads.

Thanks for the info. I will double check, as the heads were a few doors down & I just entered the number from memory.

If they are the 3919842 heads they are a very desirable set. In good condition, they sell for up to about $3000 a set. With that casting date I don't think they were factory installed heads but bought over the counter. That doesn't make them any less desirable.

The 67 dated 392s are the heads worth $3000.00 or more. The later 842 was available over the counter until well into the 90s. A friend just got a set of 842s brand new in the boxes for $2000.00. I personally thought he got screwed but he was happy with the deal.

I will gladly pay $2000 for a new in the box set. Here is a link to a set that just sold on Ebay.

I checked them this afternoon & the number is 3919842. The date code on them is 11-17-69. So, when I told him what they might be worth, he decided to put them on his bis block. Thanks for the help.
