I went to look at a locally owned 1981 camaro yesterday that has been off the road scince 86 . When the gentleman opened his shed where the car was stored i noticed it had a different front bumper then most and upon popping the hood the first thing that stuck out was the turbocharger setup on the car that looked very similar to the ones used in turbo transams in the day. One fender has a large dent in it from a wheel barrow falling on it ( also in the shed) and most of the paint was falling of. There was however a yenko turbo z28 decal on the passenger side of the car. ( the drivers side was partially striped as it is an abandoned restoration project) .some of the interior parts are missing and most of the exhaust system is gone. I dont know much about these cars and honestly didnt know yenko made anything in 81. Is there anyway to tell if the car is authentic? would the turbo setup be the same as on a turbo trans am ? the car has a 350 with a quadra jet (the turbo seems to go into the pate underneath) and a turbo 350 trans. 10 bolt rear. Is there anything i should look for inparticular? did they hide build sheets or have other yenko only equipment else where on the car ?
Thanks
