I found a 1971 4 door malibu with front end damage.but from the firewall back it has some good rust free part, like all the ac stuff,windshield,wiper motor,floor pan,trunk pan,deck lid,rear quarters,instrument cluster,perfect tan dash pan,rust free rear speaker sheetmetal.My 68 ss needs alot of stuff, i could probably spent a day or two stripping the car down to nothing for a real reasonable price but only if its worth my time.just looking a little advice. thanks in advance....

Trunk lid is a bolt on. I think. Dash is all good at least for 70-72. The AC firewall can be grafted to a non-ac car. Lots of good chunks as long as the price is very reasonable. i.e. free. It's a lot of effort to remove sections of sheet metal if you drill out spot welds.

Aren't the 68's known as orphans because of how little body parts interchange with the other years? The 8's and 9's share the same sheet metal with the main difference being the marker light cutouts in the fenders and the 9's have a cutout in the rear quarters for marker lights.But the doors are different (8's have vent windows 9's don't) Except for the trunk deck I don't think any other sheet metal from the 71 will work.
