why dont my gauges work now, when they worked earller.72 ss project car all new painless wireing, new dash circuit board. had dash in to check wiring. worked great, but the dash instalation was temp case it didnt work. every thing worked but dash cluster broke around head light switch so uot with the dash. found new dash cluster. reinstalled dash again, now no gas or temp works but the temp gauge peg to the right and wont come back. any help to my misfortune would keep me from putting the project down again

It's tough to figure out with aftermarket wiring in there. However, it sounds like the sender wire on the temp gage is always grounded. This would make the needle peg hard to the right. The sender wire was green with the original wiring and may have gone to the ignition switch before heading under the hood.

Go back and check all the connections to the gauges, make sure the nuts on the terminals are tight. Make sure the metal gauge panel is grounded. Check all the gnd screws on the circuit board make sure they are tight.

thanks again,
now for my last question. any way to callibrate temp gauge,or tell if you have right sensor in manifold. why i ask is when i had a bad ground to temp gauge it peged needle to the hot side and i used finger to bring needle back down. i dont know,i guess , where its supposed to be on the dial.or its self setting. dont get me wrong, the temp gauge works it seems to be running hotter than last time when it worked.
any insight to this would be great.
