: Lexus metallic grey?
EddieF Nov 4th, 03, 9:46 AM I've been looking out for a dark metallic grey I'm toying with using on my 66 with red interior. It's black now and I'll probably end up going back to that, but yesterday I saw what looked like a new Lexus with a very dark and VERY metallic grey. Does anyone have any idea what the name of that color is? If I had to guess I'd say this car is a 2004, but it could have been a year or so older, it was clean enough to look new though.
Thanks.

Not sure what the color is from your Lexus, , you should be able to get the number from the dealership, but, you may want to go by the local Chrysler/Jeep dealer in your area. I saw one of the nicest metallic gray colors on a Jeep Grand Cherokee at the Detroit Auto Show this past year. The metallic looked a mile deep, I think it would be great with a nice red interior. In fact I am considering it for my '66 SS convertible. Take a look and lets see some pics when you get it done.

LKN BCK Nov 6th, 03, 4:05 PM Ed, I too have a 66SS 2DR that is black with red interior that I have had for over 20 years.
I also want to do a color change and have seriously been thinking about doing it a
Dark Gray with fine metalic also
Have you considered other colors also if so what might they be? (Just curious)
I really like black on your car,is it the Black you dont like or are you just ready for something different?I do know I will never have a Black car again!

sevt_chevelle Nov 6th, 03, 10:50 PM Eddie not 100% sure of the color on the Lexus :( but Dodge does have really nice dark gray that they use on the new style ram pickups, probably the same as Jeep.
If you want THAT color go to a body supply store that sells paint ask to see the import color book. The book will give samples of what the color should look like

Indeed and it is. I went down to the dodge dealership three weeks ago and saw he same deep metallic and I am also considering using it when I get to body in paint.....in 10 years or so at the rate I am going. smile.gif I really dig the color. White stripes over black interior for me though. Either that or Nissan has a really nice (IMO) greyish coffee looking metallic color that they use on the new Xterra trucks that I like.
EddieF Nov 7th, 03, 12:26 PM Wow. Thanks for the responses, guys. Nobody bit on this topic for a while and I gave up on it, forgot to check back for a while.
Thanks for the tip on the Jeep color, there's a dealer nearby so it'll be easy to check out.
And DANO, I'd love to see pictures of your black on red 66, if you have any you can email that'd be great. I think I'd be happy with the black again, it's not that I don't like the black, I guess I just was thinking about being a little different. But I love how chrome looks against dark colors, and with the red interior I figured my options were limited: Red, white, black, silver, grey. Red is too much red, white and silver are too light, so I'm down to black or grey. I've had black cars before, and love how they look when they're super clean. But dark met. grey would probably give the same impression.
Thanks again for the replies, sorry for the delayed acknowledgement.
