i was wondering how people keep there tires looking good and conditioned. Mine are gettin pretty old and i can't seem to get that "brownish" look out of them. Do you guys jack your cars up to get the entire tire conditioned? What products do yo like? I drive my chevelle frequntly, so i'm lookin for a product with some staying power.

Turtle Wax Tire Wax. You can have it VERY shiney or dull depending on how you apply it. You just have to clean the tires well. I would suggest pulling them off and scrubbing them with Simple Green, once they're dry, apply to Tire Wax. If you want them glossy, lay it on kind of think and let it sit in the sun, the tires will have a serious wet look. If you want it dull wipe it on and remove the excess. What I like about this stuff is it doesn't sling off (unless you get carried away with it). If it starts getting dirty, just take a dry rag and wipe the tires down, the dirt will come off and you will have a nice black finish. I only apply it a few times a year.

Dupont tire wax, or cleaner, not sure. I think it is the one with teflon in it. I drive mine almost everyday and it holds up real well.

Go to Pismo beach and drive around in the sand for a weekend. That will get the real nice, black untreated rubber look. ;)

Personally, I use Comet and a scrub brush. I don't like the Armor-All or the tire-wax look. Westley's Tire Black used to be the ticket when Grampa was a lad, but that stuff is way too messy.

Don't forget to roll the tires at least 1/4 turn before you are finished. :D

hit it with a good pressure washer about 5-7" away. That will get the brownish off. then use the chemicals like the other guys mentioned.
