I've been using this etch and like it, but today got curious as to what technology it is.... Lacquer per chance? I dunno other than all I add to it is reducer.
Thanks as Always!!

Yes you are right, it is basic lacquer technology. The BIG difference is it is a 2K using an activiating reducer. Don't think for a second that it is "lacquer", it isn't like lacquer primer or something like that. It simply starts out with a basic lacquer technology.

By the way, that reducer contains the acid, it is NOT to be subsituted with anything else.

I'm also glad knowing now that it isn't a 1k product as I had suspected. I knew that reducer was some nasty stuff. Thanks a million Brian!! graemlins/hurray.gif graemlins/thumbsup.gif

After spraying some on and allowing it to fully cure take a rag with lacquer thinner on it and give it the rub test. You will find that it doesn't rub off, well at least not easily. It is not as insoluable as an epoxy or urethane, but is more insoluable than a lacquer.
