Thanks a lot!

Thank you Dale. I appreciate that. I'm pretty happy with it so far.
DaleM Feb 10th, 06, 4:57 PM The more I look at the stinger hood, the more I like it. I may have to 'steal' that idea for my 67 Elky if/when I get around to redoing it. Did you graft a fiberglass unit on the metal hood?

No. If you do that the fiberlass will spiderweb away from the metal eventually. I bit the bullet and spent $1000 to have this one made. It's one piece and eveything is open under the stinger. I also spent about another $1000 getting it where it's at.
DaleM Feb 10th, 06, 7:22 PM So it's a one-off fiberglass item?
Bowtieguys Feb 10th, 06, 8:40 PM So it's a one-off fiberglass item?
Exactly. The company that made it for me actually doesn't exist anymore, but I'm sure you could talk some of the better fiberglass manufacturers into doing one for you. VFN Fiberglass is going to do one for a 66 nova 2 dr sedan that I bought me dad for fathers day.
PickSS Feb 10th, 06, 9:43 PM Somebody needs to make a mold of that hood...it would look awesome on any muscle car. Rich can't wait to see the finished ride....I'm drooling. I'm almost home on mine. New pics in signature.

Thanks so much. I appreciate the kind words. Your chevelle is looking awesome! I love the color. Looks like me and you have just went through the same process on our cars. I hope to see yours and meet you at a show sometime. Great job.
frankf72malibu Feb 10th, 06, 11:47 PM Rich,
That hood looks awesome. The car is beautiful. Can't wait to see it all done. Good job!

LS_5 Feb 11th, 06, 8:01 AM Wow! That car looks spectacular!! How are you planning to do the interior? Stock or the full leather treatment with white faced guages and a monster stereo? Whichever way it goes, I'm sure it'll look great!
Nice job!!

Thank you. I actually have stock white interior (all brand new), buckets without console with 6 speed shifter, factory speedometer done in white instead of black, and tilt column. I might put a billet steering wheel in to match my wheels...see pictures below. I also have NOS radio and heater deletes for the car. The only tunes that I'll hear are from the 600+ hp Big Block. Thanks for the kind words, I'll keep the updates coming.

Redrum Feb 11th, 06, 12:39 PM Check with Glastec. They did my hood, grafting a 67 Z-28 cowl onto a flat 69 Chevelle hood for my 1.5 inch cowl hood needed to clear the 502 with the air gap intake. They only charged an extra $150.00 for the modification.
DaleM Feb 11th, 06, 12:52 PM Thanks Redrum. Glasstek did the hood on my 67. Only folks that had a 4" rise at the time needed to clear the Accel/DFI I was running. I'll keep 'em in mind.
Rich, how about a nice 3/4 photo showing the car/color/wheels?
Bowtieguys Feb 11th, 06, 1:35 PM Rich, how about a nice 3/4 photo showing the car/color/wheels?
Dale, I would, but unfortunately I took the wheels/tires off after checking fitment. They were too expensive to take a chance during the final reassembly. But I will post a 3/4 pic, and a wheel closeup for you...
The final pictures won't be long.

That's a great idea. Should look great! I also considered some other modifications, but wanted to still keep the classic 67 style. I just bought a Black on Black 67 SS, maybe I'll do some different mods to it. Thanks for the compliments.
93Polo Feb 13th, 06, 11:36 AM Good looking car. The color favors 67 Corvette Marlboro Moaroon.

I agree that it does from the pics, but they do not do it justice. The color in the sun has a orange hue to it. The base is Cinder red metallic with a Candy Tangerine over it. Here are a couple better pics...

Thank you Wes! I like it as well. We had a setback last week, because the body man was at the race in Daytona. He will be at it this coming week and I should be behind the wheel soon. You all will see it in the for sale section very very soon as well. I'm going to build something else.
PickSS Feb 24th, 06, 2:40 PM Rich,
Say it is not so...your almost home and your putting it up for sale. Any ballpark figures as my brother is looking for a 67?
That is one sweet ride!!

Thank you very much. I really have mixed feelings about selling it, but I have built nothing but 66-67 Chevelles for years, and I need a change of pace. As far as price, I haven't set a bottom line yet, because I haven't even been able to drive it yet or see the finished product. I will say that it won't be cheap because the materials, parts, and labor are top notch. I have already had some interest at pro-touring.com and have had some offers on trades. Give me a couple weeks, and I will try to get an acccurate number. I will definately consider offers!
