Hey guys, this question is more for my bike than my car. Is it possible to polish fine scratches out of a piece of chrome? Thanks.

I have never been successful in trying to get scratchs out of chrome no matter what I tried.

The degree of success depends on the type of metal and whether it is actually "chrome".

If it's stainless steel, success can approach 100% if the correct sanding and polishing materials and techniques are used.

If it's aluminum and the scratch is very deep, replace it. Polishing scratches on aluminum trim pieces can be rather iffy for a couple of reasons.

If it is actually chrome plated metal, the chances of getting out scratches are very slim because the chrome is so hard.
