Hi guys, I am in the process of making my '67 Beaumont hook up better, and need your input. As it sits now, with a 400 hp smallblock, 3000 stall, 4.56's, and 255/70/15's, traction is limited,to say the least. :) I have boxed the lower arms and added poly bushings, and air bags in the coils. The plans I have include 275/60/15 MT ET steet radials (sitting in the garage right now),
15 x 8 rallys, frame braces, and changing the gears to 4.11's. I also want to remove the air bags and use the Edelbrock antihop bars with the adjustable uppers. Anybody have any experience with these?? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Alot of people like the no hops, I think that I will go with these http://www.umiperformance.com/4010.aspx they will do the same thing as the lift bars. You may want to keep the airbag in the right coil to counter act the axle rotation.

I have no hops and adjustable uppers. Made a huge difference. I have F41 lowers w/rubber and a one inch sway bar. This setup works great on my car. The anti roll bar setup also looks like a winner.

I have a 67 454, runs mid 12's. Rear is set up with SSM lowers, adj. uppers, 9" locker w/3.70 behind TH400 w3K stall, and now an air bag in the right spring. I have not run at the track since correcting very rich carb, locker install and air bag. Last 60' time was 2.0. I fully expect with recent mods to get into 1.8 or less territory with 275-60-15 drag radials. Car makes ALOT of wheel well smoke on street tires, but I don't mind:)

71 Camino with SB 400, 400 trans and 4.56 gears. Boxed the lower and upper arms, poly bushings and lakewood traction bars. I run drag radials in my class at the track w/ 22 psi and no problems. I do drive it on the street with the same, however I wouldnt recommend extended hiway driving on these tires of course. I can bolt on a set of regular radials and , like you said, shred them.
Theres a 69 Chevelle with a big block in my shop that was running mid 9's with the same setup, cept he had slicks. He recently built another motor and had Wolf Engineering Re-do his rear suspension. It ran 9.07 and the rear carrier broke. hasnt been to the track since he fixed it.
I looked at all that was available for our 4 - links and his car convinced me that you dont have to spend a ton of money to make these things hook up.

I would also look at your rear coil setup. I had serious wheel hop on mine. My rear coil springs where to tall and spring rate was to high 160lbs. I just put in 71 Malibu springs with 130 lbs spring rate. This also lowered my rear geometry with the boxed control arms now being parallel to the ground. So see how your lower box springs are in relation to the ground. If they angle to high like mine did,you will have wheel hop like there is no tomorrow.Look at my site on the second page and check out the bottom pictures. You will notice that my rear stance is way lower than what I had before.

I have absolutly no wheel hop. 516ft lbs tq - stock uppers and lowers - new rubber bushings. Global west rear coils, approx 3/4" lower than stock.
