I am thinking about painting my car with a primer (grey or black) to be followed by a finish of acrylic enamel of some color at a later date (maybe 1 year). I would like to know what type of primer I can put on my car to protect it until I decide on a paint color to be applied later........How should I prep this painted vehicle for the primer?
Thanx

First off your paint selection of acrylic enamel is way out of date. Do yourself a big favor and spend the extra hundred bucks and get base clear. Doing all that work on a car then painting it with enamel WHY?

Expoy does a gret job at holding back the elements like moisture and such but breaks down when exposed to the sun. Expoy is not meant to be used as a stand alone primer or product it needs to be topcoated. If you expose expoy to the sun it will break down and get a chaulky look to it. No primer can withstand that time frame(year) and not be topcoated and not have some type of break down.

Why not just wait and do your bodywork and primering after you have decided on your color? Doing all that work now and then painting the car later will only end up costing you more money down the road and will cost you to redo some if not all of the priming work...Eric
