: Need info on aluminum finned buick drums

I am wondering if they came in 2x11 inch rear set up as I wound like to use them on the rear of my car when I up grade my rear brakes.

From what I understand they were 45-fin until about '64, then changed to 90-fin. The 90-fin drums are on all the full-sized Buicks up through '71.

What I don't know is if there is an application that will fit the 2x11 inch chevy rear with the chevelle bolt pattern.

I know a lot of rodders use them on the front of their rods, but I have not seen them used on the rear. I love the looks of them on a fenderless ride.

Anyone with any experience with these?

Thanks Bill

no 2 x 11 rear for a 4 3/4 bolt pattern. came on full size which is a 5 in bolt pattern. 2 x 9 for A body rears and 4 3/4 pattern.

Thanks for the info, I was affraid they wouldn't have the bolt pattern match.

They sure look good on a fenderless rod though.

And I think the big Buicks had 12" drums, if I remember right............

Some 73 -77 A bodies came with 2" x 11" rear drums with the correct 4 3/4" bolt circle. Look under wagons and old police cars. I have a set from a 77 Le Mans I was originally going to put on my Nova. I have now decided on rear disc's.

Phil,

Thanks for the info. That is the set up I plan on using, I just wanted to know if any of the aluminum big finned buick drums would adapt to that 4.75 bolt pattern in the 2"x11" size.
