Anyone used one of these guns?
I need something to use just for primer, it will NEVER see the light of topcoats.
I really dont want to use my $300 sata primer gun, as it will just wind up getting trashed.
Looking for a nice cheap primer, but yet still preform day to day.
Thanks...Eric

Check spraygunworld.com I'll bet they have a better price. I know the sharp CG's I think it is for $170? Are great. Might also consiter a Astro DX I love mine for primmer but you need to chuck the reg that comes with it and get a sharpe #1410 if you go with the AstroPneumatic.

Just my novice opinion.

After talking with a local rep today he suggested agaisnt the finex. They have some oddball o-rings that will fail when exposed to lacquer thinner. Said he sold 4-5 finexs and got ALL of them back.

Don't laugh but i have been using an Ingersol Rand gravity feed 1.4 that i bought at Lowes for under $100. Works great for primer.

I've got two Matco Cheapie $95 Non HVLP gravity feed guns that I've been using for primer for the past 6 years, One I even drilled out the fluid tip for use with heavy Polyester primers. :D They work just fine. There are some really nice primer specific guns out there today but I can't justify blowing a few hundred bucks on something I really don't need. JMO

I own and operate a body shop and the finex gun by sharpe is a very good gun , mine is 1.5 as far as cleaning the gun CLEAN THE LID WITH URETHANE GRADE REDUCER !! for the money the finex is as good if not better than a iwata , besides if you mess the gasket up on the lid a brand new lid is only 8 dollars and my gun was only 102.00 cant beat that for the pattern that the gun lays down , i mean you can replace alot of lids for this gun compared to the cost of others such as iwata , sata and others .JUST TAKE CARE IN CLEANING THE FINEX AND IF ALL ELSE FAILS DUE TO NOT PROPER CLEANING GET A NEOPREME O RING. TO SUM THIS UP THE FINEX IS A 8 ON A SCALE OF 1-10 BUT IT'S NOT FOR THE CARELESS USER WHO DOSNT TAKE PROPER CARE IN THE CLEANING PROCESS. C'MON YOU HAVE TO HAVE URETHANE REDUCER IF YOU KNOW WHATS UP WITH HIGH SOLIDS. I HAVE SATA GUNS SHARPE PLATINUM -ALL HVLP OF COURSE BUT IM USING THE FINEX .

polester primers are troublesum , wet sanding allows the primer to absorb water and will blister after a few years . ive been building cars and wrecks for about 20 years in my opinion polester does not do a good job that you can be proud of for years to come.
